Vera Vault -- Stripe it up!

I'm slowly getting through photographing my collection of Vera scarves.  There are two things that hinder me from working through them faster.  1 -- I am working on our business -- photographing all the goodies for our Etsy shop and our website, and 2 -- I keep getting more scarves!  The first is unavoidable, and the second is, well, never going to stop!  So enjoy these stripes from my last batch photographed.  

Vera Vault -- Watercolor Prints

I read somewhere that Vera Neumann created over 20,000 different designs in her career.  That's an amazing number!  For this Vera Vault, I thought it might be interesting to look at a sampling of her designs that are very different from each other, but use the same watercolor effect.

Vera Vault -- Hello, Yellow!

I have multiple bags of Vera scarves waiting to be photographed for "Vera Vault" posts.  Before I photograph them, I have to steam each one.  I usually try to steam several while I am steaming scarves to list in our Etsy shop.  I always try to come up with a theme for my posts, and this time, as I reached my hand into the bag to grab a scarf, I grabbed a yellow plaid Vera.  

 

Then, I reached in, without looking, and grabbed this yellow floral sheer Vera:

Next, a yellow geometric:

I was beginning to sense a trend.  So I looked in a bag and pulled out a yellow abstract scarf:

I just love that Vera never limited herself to just one style.  Florals, plaids, geometrics, abstracts, figurals -- she did it all.  Who knows what I'll pull out of the bag next time!

Vera Vault -- By the Neck

It's time for another installment of the Vera Vault!  Vera Neumann designed more than just square or rectangular scarves.  Today we'll look at two styles in particular, highlighting 6 scarves from my collection.

Vera Vault -- Praise for Paisley

I have been sorting through the Vera collection, and trying to get all of them photographed, but it's been a sloooooww process.  At least I have an official count now -- it was 377, but then my birthday happened.  Hallelujah!  My co-Blackbird had a stash of sixteen scarves that she had been saving for the big day.  Add that (and the 4 others I have found in the past few weeks), and the count for right now is 397.

You read that right.  I just need 3 more to hit the 400 mark.

Wait, why am I sitting here typing this when I could be out there finding 3 more Veras???

OK, well while I try to calm myself, enjoy this installment of the Vera Vault.  I decided to highlight a selection of paisley designs.  I'm constantly amazed at how many different designs she produced, and even though they're all different, they all somehow still have her personal design aesthetic all over them.
