On the Radar -- Love Letters

As a designer, it's natural that I love typography.  I collect fonts like I collect junk.  But we Blackbird girls also collect other forms of typography.  We'll get into that in a future Junk Love post, but for today, I wanted to share what other people have been doing with fonts and letters and words.

Vintage letters like this have been wildly popular for the last few years.  We have some similar:

From Elements by Timbers on Etsy, here.

But that trend spawned new love for text.  Here's the round-up:

Tabisso furniture

Door decal from The Vinyl Company on Etsy, here.

Helvetica Scarf from The Little Factory on Etsy, here.

Kate Spade dinnerware.

Junk Love Monday: Does This Blog Post Make Me Look Fat?

Vintage barkcloth fabric, from InWithTheOldVintage
I need to go on a diet. I also need to exercise. I calmly contemplate these truths as I write this post, and fully acknowledge the fact that I plan to eat chips and dip to reward myself when it's done. I'm sure you understand how this goes....

Thinking about counting calories is boring, but thinking about cute junk that helps you count calories is not. So, today's junk love is all about diets. Or, really, it's all about adorable vintage things that you can pretend are to help you go on a diet, but even if you fail, you can console yourself with the knowledge that you still have cute junk. And isn't that really what life is all about anyway?

And so....
